The Utrecht College Fair of October 11th

More than 500 students visited our stand at the Studiebeurs in Utrecht last week. It was so nice to talk to everyone and give some general information about our Freshman Year! We hope to welcome you all at our Open Day in Deventer on the 6th of December. Everyone who gave us a name and address will get a personal invitation via e-mail. We promised to announce the name of the lucky winner of the I-pod, complete with spoken books from Plato and Aristoteles. And the winner is ... Pauline Smolders, a 6 VWO student from Groningen. Congratulations!

Are you an active and creative person and have many interests?

Do you want to postpone your choice of what to study and where?

Freshman Year at Academia Vitae is an international academic gap year that will give you a solid foundation for all further studies. You will acquire skills in reading, speaking, and writing at an academic level about the history of thinking, about politics and society, about science and the arts. This is the year to discover what truly interests you, and to do so within a group of ambitious students and inspiring teachers at a small campus in the medieval city of Deventer.

Freshman Year in a nutshell:

  • A broad intellectual basis;
  • Introduction to the different academic disciplines and learning what it means to think as a psychologist, economist, historian, biologist, etc.;
  • Emphasis on argumentation, clear and effective speaking and writing;
  • Great teachers and small groups (approximately 15 students);
  • Academic counseling;
  • Help to discover who you are, what you're good at, and what you really want to study.
