Fostering and conserving cultural heritage are demanding tasks that require a great deal of knowledge within the field of cultural heritage: What is it? What are its policy designs? How do we finance and manage it? The course deals with these and related issues.
Cultural Entrepreneurship
A dynamic economy calls for cultural entrepreneurs who are willing to take risks, alter routines, and possess the persuasive, diplomatic, and rhetorical skills to see change to its fruition. Participants will learn about the peculiarities of the cultural sector and become familiar with the particular qualities of good cultural entrepreneurs.
Art Production and Markets
The course analyses the relationship between visual arts and the market. It highlights the role of institutions and intermediaries, the value of visual arts, the relationship between art markets and innovative work, and the role of creative environments.

The aim of the course is to bridge the knowledge and experiences of those in science, the arts and business. It will give professionals and advanced students the latest insights into the sources and nature of creativity. It will explore the characteristics of environments that foster creativity in the workplace and society as a whole. It will pay special attention to the role that the arts can play in fostering a creative environment and how creativity can contribute to better government policies and better leadership in professional organizations.
Participants will learn from scholars who are working on the frontiers of the research on creativity as well as from artists and experts who have experience with creative processes in the working environment.
